Get to know Physalis!

  • Physalis is very popular as a dessert, for example, dipped in chocolate, it can be used in cocktails, eaten as a snack, or even as a decorative accent for cakes and entertaining. The leaves are also edible!

  • Physalis are goldenberries with their leaves, as mother nature delivers them. You can simply peel back the leaves and enjoy, or explore fun ways to use the fruit - such as dipping in chocolate, in cocktails, or just as a snack.

  • Yes, although they might not be the tastiest part, the leaves are indeed edible. Most people will just eat the berry, but feel free to enjoy however you choose

  • Physalis and goldenberries are grown at Goldenberry Farms! This superfruit thrives in very high-altitude regions, so we grow in Colombia, near Medellin, and also outside of Bogota, high in the mountains and cloud forests. This fruit is hand-harvested with love and care!

  • Since physalis come in their natural husk, as mother nature intended, the fruit has a very good shelf life. We recommend refrigerating the fruit or storing in a cool location - typically the fruit will stay fresh for several week.
